Deering and Down "Pick A Knee" Official Video

Deering and Down Officially Release New Music Video for Latest Single "You're the One"

(MEMPHIS, Tenn.) Indie-folkers Lahna Deering and Rev Down of Deering and Down premiered a brand new music video for their latest single, "You're the One" last week on Ditty TV.

The video was premiered in a live webcast after an interview with D&D and the director, Matteo Servente. He shared that the original concept for the video began as something completely different and gradually morphed into a whole new idea. The video visually captures the song's poppier sound in that it was "cast in a glow of shimmering lights" thanks to projection mapping done by Christopher Reyes and film and editing done by Nathan Black.

In the interview, Lahna Deering stated that "You're the One" is about always being 'the one,' even when you aren't the one for someone else. It is a song of self love and optimism.

This is the first single and music video from Deering and Down's currently untitled album which was produced by Doug Easley at Easley / McCain Recording whose studio has played host to artists like Jack White, Cat Power, Jeff Buckley, Sonic Youth, Modest Mouse, and Wilco.

The album is scheduled to drop in late 2015 by BAA Music Group.

You can stream and share the video on Youtube and download the song for free from Noisetrade at

What a great year of music! So the baa gang got together last night and after much debate, food and drink, and a very good time, picked our favorite top 20 albums of 2014. We threw out a few biggies like Taylor Swift, Black Keys, etc.. just because.

So really there is no order even though one emerged. If we mispelled something, sorry, its 3:34 am so we're not perfect.

To each of these artists and their labels, Thank You!

Memphis' own soulful folk duo, Deering and Down, just announced a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign in support of their anticpated upcoming full-length album set to release in late February of 2015.

Deering and Down’s last album, Out There Somewhere, was recorded with the Hi-Rhythm section of Royal Studios by Lawrence “Boo” Mitchell and his father - the late legendary Willie Mitchell, back in 2012. Out There Somewhere classified Deering and Down as one of the few current Memphis artists to emulate and carry the signature Sun and Stax sounds into the future of a historically captivating musical city, and they now continue that authentic flavor with a more raw and modern twist.

While the new album offers a “whole set of pastels” and a slightly new musical approach for the duo, Deering and Down still wear the crown as gurus of “sexy music” and remain “defiantly unorthodox.” They have brought elements of their live performances into the studio and now need the help of their fans to share it with the world.

Aaron Hendra is a man on a mission who believes in second chances. And he should. The Australian-born singer, songwriter and guitarist has been given enough of them over the last ten years. In an attempt to make things happen, Hendra delivered a demo tape to BMG Music Australia, the then record label of Aussie superstar, John Farnham. Six weeks later, Farnham personally called Hendra to say he loved the song and wanted to record it. “Don’t Let It End” was featured on the multi-platinum album Romeo’s Heart.

Adrien Reju at the Studio

Woodstock-based singer-songwriter Adrien Reju  has  coined  her  own  brand  of  indie-folk- retro-rock with a mesmerizing live performance that draws in audiences with her strong, clear Patsy Cline-esque voice and old-soul quality songs with contemporary hooks. Fellow peer and singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata says "she is like a bird from another planet who can see directly into your heart".

To  date, Adrien has released a 5-song EP, Lucky Ones (2012), and a full length LP, A Million Hearts (2009) to critical acclaim and regular rotation on such AAA radio programs as WXPN's World Cafe with David Dye.  She has toured  the  U.S.  and  Canada  appearing  as an opener and band member/backup singer with artists including  Rachael  Yamagata,  A.C.  Newman  (The  New  Pornographers),  Neko  Case,  Amos Lee,  Gillian  Welch,  Linda  Rondstadt  and  David  Bromberg.  Her  songs  "Heartless"  and  “The  Waiting   Room”  were  featured  in  the  Hallmark  movie  Flower  Girl.

Only You plays the Studio August 16th

"Rachel Fannan and Brandon Intelligator, singer song-writers from southern California, are together carrying a glowing torch for the Golden Age of music. Their distinct and effortless harmonies bring audiences back to a sound most of today's youth have left for dead. The two rock n rollers met off stage between sets and eventually discovered a mutual joy in singing old songs.  As a duo these 20 somethings would've been right at home with Emmy Lou and Graham, the Everly Brothers, or June and Johnny. Somber notes from a sawdust covered floor, underpinnings of rock n roll take hold."

The Warble,

The Memphis Flyer recently picked their top artists and albums for 2011. J.D. Reager of the The Flyer wrote,"2. Movie Night — The Warble and 3. 12 Magnificent Songs — Clay Otis & the Showbiz Lights: If this list was of the "most excellently weird local albums of 2011," then the Warble and Clay Otis & the Showbiz Lights would absolutely be the top two (probably in reverse order). As it stands, both make the top three with what are still tremendous efforts. The Warble's weirdness on Movie Night is reminiscent of early They Might Be Giants and Ween but with a darker and more psychedelic edge."

BAA CMG will enable artists to reach markets previously not targeted by BAA.

July 29th is the official release date for the upcoming album, "Movie Night" by The Warble. More details to follow.....

Alex Warble and Liz Hoehn of The Warble newest video, "By the Ghost".

A July release of "Movie Night" by The Warble will be the first release on BAA. This will be the third album released by the Warble over the last three years. "Spacetime Breakfast" (2009) and "Green Ghost" (2010) both enjoyed critical success for their unique indie sound. Like their previous two albums, "Movie Night" again tries experiments with sounds and instruments. Alex Warble uses organs, synthesizers, guitars and vocals to create an album that only The Warble could put together. Liz Hoehn's haunting background vocals perfectly compliment Alex Warble's. Also, original band member Benny "B" who has appeared on all previous albums returns to add drums on four songs including the title song, "Movie Night".

All songs on the album are written by either Alex Warble or with Liz Hoehn. From the very first song, "The Latest Headlines, From the Most Important News" to the last song "50,000 Dollars" the album is full of surprises and what fans have come to expect with The Warble. It also includes the recent hit, "Just Busted".

Its a Beauty, from the Warble's new album, "Movie Night".

Liz Hoehn and Alex Warble of The Warble

The Warble have been in the studio the past few months working on their upcoming new album called Movie Night. Alex Warble says,"we are trying to create songs like we have in the past but with new sounds, and a new style not heard before on our first two albums. It will be great."

BAA Social Media Director, Alix Goin, was all mum on the upcoming announcements of who the label would soon be adding to the BAA flock. "I know its a little silly for someone like me who is supposed to spread the word but not everything is in place." Goin added that all that matters right now is pushing our first release by The Warble. The Warble's new album "Movie Night" is scheduled to be released in May.

Goin continued,"After the Warble's release we will share with everyone who else will be added to the label". Stay tuned.

The Warble, Liz Hoehn and Alex Warble

BAA Music Group announces the signing of the band The Warble to a record deal with the first release planned for May, 2011. The Warble have two self-released albums in 2009 and 2010 both receiving critical praise for the sound and uniqueness of their music. The Warble, known for their shows and art, are always pushing the limits of how many sounds they can put into their songs.

A & R Director, Anderson Goin said he was excited about what 2011 has in store. "We know of so many wonderful artists that the hard part is not to get to far ahead and to stay focused on our goals and timeline. There is no other group like The Warble. I mean, they are artists, performers, actors and visionaries. Imagine Wolf Parade, Lori Anderson, MGMT and a little Jay Reatard for that raw factor all rolled into one, I love them." Goin added that. "Our first mission is to release the yet to be named album by The Warble. Alex Warble has had his band together for a few years and the band changes from time to time. Members come and go as part of a wonderful ebb and flow which allows for different sounds and looks. The plan is to start with The Warble and then to add one or two more acts either by the third and fourth quarter. We think by 2012 we could have as many as six acts. But we do not want to get too many because we want to stay focused on the current projects at BAA. Also, speaking about The Warble, Alex Warble's art is unbelievable. You see Van Gogh, Haring, and Calder mixed together. Alex truly has his own style just like his music".

Goin's main goal right now is too find new talent and to get people in the studio to lay a few tracks down. "We really believe in finding new talent that is truly different. We recently had Molly in the studio and I would love to try and sign her to a deal. She has so much potential."

Goin concluded with a toast to the New Year! "Welcome to BAA, The Bohemian Artist Alliance begins today"
